Masayuki Narumi, of Japanese origin, began his training working at the Kourinbo restaurant in Shinjuku from 1998 to 2001. His desire to learn and travel led him to the United States to become head chef at the Takecho Seiketsu restaurant in New York. He returned to his country to be the owner and head chef of Shunsai Narumi and Nanami in Tokyo, from 2007 to 2019. He is currently the head chef of the Daikichi Beach restaurant.
He has been proclaimed winner of the second edition of ITAMAE Balfegó, the professional sushi championship in Spain organized by Balfegó in Madrid.
